Toothbrush that makes toothpaste redundant

Japanese nanotechnology experts have designed a brush that cleans teeth so thoroughly that toothpaste is not needed. All you need to have sparkling teeth is little water, says the Japanese manufacturer.

This nanotech toothbrush was developed and produced by Japanese company Yume Shokunin, and it was designed by Kosho Ueshima. The secret of this brush lies in miniature mineral ions that clean teeth instead of standard toothpaste, the web portal socialdesignmagazine.com reports.

The ions are activated when the brush is dipped into water, passing from bristles to the teeth during brushing and, thus, removing stains and forming a protective coating on the enamel.

This brush is called "misoka" - which is Japanese for "the last day of the month," and it can be used for one month.

People in Japan and Asia can buy this toothbrush since 2007.

The company said in a statement that "even without toothpaste, your teeth stay as shiny and clean as though you just walked out of a teeth-cleaning session at the dentist's". Misoka toothbrush has been unveiled in Milan at the big trade fair Salone del Mobile, RTS reports.
