Republic Statistics Institute obtained modern "info-desk"

Yesterday (June 25, 2007), in the premises of the Republic Statistics Institute, modern “info-desk” for all users of the data of the Institute was opened. Reconstruction of the Institute was mainly financed by European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR).

This service was introduced by the Manager of the Republic Statistics Institute, Dragan Vukmirović, and Program Manager of EAR, Olivier Bunen.

Vukmirović explained that "every citizen - student, household keeper or economy expert can enter the building of the Institute and ask for some information, read the publications, or ask for explanation how the price index is formed or inflation calculated ".

- In order to enter the building of the Institute, in 5 Milana Rakića Street, the visitor should leave his ID card at the reception desk and then the experts of that institution will help him find statistical information he needs – he added.

Vukmirović pointed out that, besides EAR, reconstruction and construction of "info-desk" in the Institute was helped by the Italian Statistics Institute, as well as statistics institutes of Hungary and Sweden.

Bunen reminded that EAR invested 5m EUR in the past few years in modernization and improvement of work of the Republic Statistics Institute.
