Construction of ecological fun park started in Pančevo – investment worth 27,000 EUR


Mayor of Town hall of Pančevo, Srđan Miković, and Head of OSCE Mission to Serbia, Ambassador Hans Ola Urstad, signed the agreement yesterday (June 25, 2007) on realization of project from the donation of OSCE for construction of large fun park in Pančevo’s settlement Strelište, intended for children between 2 and 12.
In the vicinity of Primary School "Mika Antić", playground shaped as castle will be built within next two months. This playground will have marry-go-rounds, toboggans, swings, seesaws and other requisites for children to play with.
All elements will be made of ecological materials, and the park will contain plants, solar lamps, benches, flagpoles with flags, on which children’s rights from the UN convention will be wrote.
According to Ambassador Urstad, through promotion of children’s play, the OSCE Mission to Serbia wishes to promote the campaign for healthier environment, use of natural materials, renewable energy sources and campaign against vandalism.
Construction of this unique children’s fun park will cost 27,000 EUR. Beside OSCE Mission to Serbia, the construction was also backed by "Telenor foundation", Hypo Alpe-Adria bank, EPS, Oil Refinery "Pančevo" and NGO "Happy World".
