In Avala film complex a hotel will be built
In “Avala film" complex which has recently been sold to “ a former taxi driver from Pancevo” a hotel could be built soon, Blic finds out from well-informed sources.
As "Blic" finds out, the plan of new owners who bought "Avala film" (still unknown to the public) is to build a luxurious hotel on 37 ha of land, among other things.
-Apart from the hotel, it is highly likely to keep something from the facilities, some studio in the complex – the source of Blic says.
Estimated property bought at the auction for EUR 8,2 m, comprised 20.000 m2 of aged facilities which have been ruined for years so most likely they will be demolished soon because of the plans of new owners when they convert the land into construction land.
It pops up also the question which last week was asked publically
by Radoslav Zelenovic, the acting head at "Jugoslovenske kinoteke".
-Someone will build a hotel or a flat and then it will be estimated that with
burnable film someone endangers these flats. Should we relocate Kinoteka – he though
then about the protection of movie heritage kept in Kinoteka at Kosutnjak and
as the things happen, that kind of scenario is likely to happen.
Director Stevan Filipovic thinks it is terrible that these kinds of activities create an impression that there are no mechanisms citizens could use to prevent these things to happen.
Belgrade’s "Novosti" have recently written that Bogoljub Karic is behind the purchase of"Avala film" .
