Bad days for fake products - Machine for destroying counterfeit goods to be put into operation

In Belgrade, on Tuesday, April 28, machine for destroying counterfeit goods which EU donated to Serbia within the “Implementation of intellectual property rights " project, will be put into operation.

The Ministry of trade, tourism and telecommunications estimate the start of machine operations as a step towards fighting against turnover of counterfeit goods at the Serbian market whose purchase and usage affects negatively not only on national economy but present danger for health and safety of consumers.

The project of "Implementation of intellectual property rights" is EU-funded with EUR 2,8 m from pre-accession funds to support Serbia in strengthening capacity of protection and implementation of intellectual property rights.
