French platform for ride sharing on the increase - BlaBlaCar takes over Carpooling and expands to Mexico

"BlaBlaCar", the biggest world community for transport sharing on longer distances announced the acquisition of "Carpooling", the second biggest ride-sharing community in Europe as well as its new market – Mexico where it is stepping in through takeover of local platform "Rides", the company announced.

At Serbian and regional market, they became famous with the arrival of "Autohop" in March 2014 which "BlaBlaCar" acquired in mid-March this year. The proof that the company has serious plans for wider market conquest is the recent purchase of German platform for finding drivers or passengers who travel to the same destination, "Mitfahrgelegenheit".

Thanks to these acquisitions, the existing "BlaBlaCar" community will expand significantly with presence at three continents which makes this company one of the biggest world communities of "economy of sharing".

After these two acquistions, "BlaBlaCar" as a community now has more than 20 million members in 19 countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America. "BlaBlaCar" is available as a web page and as Android and iOS application in Benelux countries, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine and United Kingdom.
