Berlin-based Groupon looking for programmers in Nis

On Thursday and Friday Nis will have a visit by a senior Vice President of Groupon from San Francisco, Hong Bui. Mr. Bui is a 28 year plus veteran of Silicon Valley, and probably the highest ranking IT entrepreneur and senior manager from California ever to visit Nis.
Hong Bui was an early developer for Apple Computers back in 1987 where he was instrumental in creating the "plug-and-play" aspects of the Apple experience that millions of Apple users take for granted today.
After eight years at Apple he moved on to Sun Microsystems, Amazon and in between founded successful start-up companies such as Good Technology (Formerly known as Visto), and others that were later sold to larger market movers. Over the years, Hong Bui has also garnered 18 internationally-recognized IT-related patents in his name, and his business model has always been based upon a vision where change is rooted in innovation and curiosity.
The Groupon visit to Nis was organized by the US firm Clean Earth Capital, developers of the Novi Nis real estate project.
- This is their first visit, but this will be a great catalyst for further visits in the future to Nis and the rest of Serbia as they assess the talent pool here - said Philip Bay, founder of Clean Earth Capital.
In the past four months, Clean Earth Capital has co-organized two IT start-up competition events with local partners such as NiCAT and larger accelerators such as Sofia-based Eleven and UAE-based Turn8 supported by DP World.
Groupon will interview some selected applicants on Friday. This company has offices in 67 countries worldwide.
