Croatian "Varteks" dresses sportsmen at "University Games 2009" in Belgrade – contract worth 5m EUR

On the basis of the agreement, which has been reached after many months of negotiations between the chiefs of "University Games", which will be organized in Belgrade in 2009, and Varaždin-based
"Varteks", this Croatian company will dress 50,000 sportsmen, participants in the “University Games".

The contract is worth about 5m EUR. People from company "Varteks" proudly point out that they got the job by having been better than Slovenian textile factory "Mura" and several Italian companies. "Varteks" obliged to provide clothing and footwear for about 50,000 participants in this sports manifestation.

The contract includes production of clothing for 14,000 volunteers who will be working at the “University Games". They will be wearing "Levi’s" clothes, the licensed product of "Varteks". It is interesting that the clothes and footwear of this Croatian company will be worn by about 500 sportsmen, trainers and members of the organizational board from Serbia this year at the “University Games” in Bangkok.
