Montenegro - leader in the region for foreign investments - In 8 years, EUR 5,5 billion

Montenegro is leading country in the region when it comes to foreign investments, Milos Jovanovic, head of the Investments promotion agency.
Jovanovic said that in the past eight years, investments totaled
EUR 5,5 billion.
- These days we are expecting the arrival of three companies from Qatar, Jordan
and USA. When it comes to companies operating in tourism, oil and IT, they
generate millions in profit and they are satisfied with our tax rate for profit
of nine percent – Jovanovic said.
According to Monstat data, the official Statistical Bureay, foreign investments in 2012 totaled 436, 5 m , a u 2013. 485, 3 m. In construction works, i.e. construction of flats for the market, a total of EUR 247 m, was invested only in 2012, and a year after EUR 264 m, which is a growth of 11,2%.
According to registration of population four years ago in Montenegro, there were more than 316.000 flats vs 194.000 households. This, according to Jovanovic, is the best illustration of the fact that the largest number of investments ended up in construction.
However, out of that number, 58.000, is vacant which is three billion euros of dead capital.
