EPS starts trading on Hungarian Power Exchange HUPX - First megawatt-hours sold without mediator

EPS Trgovanje, a subsidiary of the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) in Slovenia, today started trading in electricity on the Hungarian Power Exchange HUPX (Hupex), EPS said in a release.

After 24 years, EPS has for the first time directly, without a mediator, sold electric energy on the power exchange. EPS Trgovanje today sold a total of 240 megawatt-hours at the current exchange price of EUR 43.66 per megawatt-hour for the europeak product (daily energy).

EPS Trgovanje is run from the EPS headquarters in Serbia, and the establishment of company in Slovenia makes it possible for the Electric Power Company of Serbia to trade in electricity in the European Union, which will also facilitate power trade in the region.
