Representatives of company "IKEA" in Belgrade – Swedes plan opening of big retail center

Minister of Trade and Services, Predrag Bubalo, spoke today (June 11, 2007) in Belgrade with the delegation of Swedish company for furniture production "IKEA", which was led by President Hans-Goran Stennert.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Trade and Services, the subject of the meeting was the plan of "IKEA Group" to open big retail center on local market in Belgrade and later in other major cities in Serbia.

It was mutual estimate that there are realistic conditions for this significant investment in Serbia and that the arrival of "IKEA" would confirm the position of Serbia as an investment destination, which would contribute to appearance of other large multinationals on this territory.

The meeting in the premises of the Ministry of Trade and Services was attended by the Ambassador of Kingdom of Sweden to Belgrade, Krister Bringeus.
