New furnace installed in Foundry "Požega"

In Foundry "Požega", the only factory for production of brake pedals for railway cars and locomotives in our country, the new induction furnace has been put into operation yesterday (June 7, 2007). This furnace will enable growth of production to 5,000 tons, which is 20% more than before.

Concern "Farmakom MB", which is the majority owner of Požega-based foundry, invested 550,000 EUR in this project, and the manufacturer of the newly installed electric furnace is "Eling" from Loznica, while the works on the installation of the furnace were carried out by the companies from Požega.

Foundry "Požega" has been handed international certificate TUV CERT on acknowledgement of quality management system according to ISO 9001:2000, which will make it possible for Požega-based foundry to export products to the countries of European Union.

Representatives of Railways of Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Republic of Srpska were present at today's celebration in Požega-based Foundry. These companies are known as the largest buyers of brake pedals.

Nikola Jojić, the Manager of this company with 140 employees, of which number will be increased by another 10 workers, signed new contract yesterday with Macedonians and announced signing of the contract on delivery of brake pedals with the representatives of Railways of Turkey and Slovenia.
