Check, reservation and payment of parking place by means of mobile telephone! Camera recognizes license plates and "let" vehicle in

Students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering from Niš, from the Department of Mechatronics and Management, are designing the study on system, which should enalbe check, reservation and payment of parking place in the garages by means of mobile telephone! The draft project "e-parking" amazed representatives of the Institute for International Education and Tobacco Industry "Philip Moris" - Niš, which will finance the study with over €3,000.

To put it simple: when one leaves home, he reserves parking place in the city by sending license plate number of his vehicle via SMS. The vacant parking place is waiting for about 20 minutes. When one reaches the parking, camera "recognizes" license plate number and the ramp is lifted. One pays exactly as much as his car occupied the parking place and the service is paid by subtracting of amount from the credit. The time one’s vehicle spent on the parking place is calculated by means of computer, so that there are no rough estimates.

Reservation via Internet one day earlier and payment by credit card will also be included in the service!

Ten-member team plans to complete "e-parking“ system within 10 months, at the longest. In the meantime, appropriate sensors and software should be seleted, as well as hardware and series of other components made.
