"Elektromreža Srbije" obtained modern dispatch center worth 10m EUR

Minister of Mining and Energy, Aleksandar Popović, and Manager of the Department of Economic Collaboration and Development within Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, Jorg Reding, marked ending of the project worth 10m EUR, the result of which is the modernized national dispatch center of “Elektromreza Srbije” (EMS).

Reding pointed out that the total aid of the Government of Switzerland in the previous 15 years amounted to 110m EUR, and that the modernization of the dispatch center was the largest single donation in that period.

He said that Serbian companies had had important role in the realization of the last project, through which Institute "Mihajlo Pupin" and company "Minel - energetska elektronika" had signed contracts on works worth 15% of total value of the donation.

General Manager of EPS, Vladimir Đorđević, reminded that the project for modernization of dispatch center started in 2001, when EPS and EMS were one company. The entire job was realized in four phases and it included 10 "packages" of services and equipment, as well as consulting services.

- Back in 2001, we did not know whether Serbia would need such modern dispatch center in which most important part was administration system SCADA/EMS. That was the key to the solution for successful appearance of EPS and EMS on regional and pan-European energy market – said General Manager EPS.

General Manager of EMS, Dragan Vignjević, pointed out that the new national dispatch center was not only important to Serbia, but also for the entire region of southeast Europe.

EMS as the largest user of this donation obtains modern and completely renovated administration system that will enable collecting of large number of data from the entire electric system and provide bases for trade in electricity.
