Construction of tanker in shipyard "Beograd" – investment worth 5m EUR

Construction of ship “Beotank1” has officially started in shipyard "Beograd", and complete investment in amount of 5m EUR will be financed by Dutch company "Vahali Service & Marine”, which rented equipment and capacities of Belgrade’s shipyard on long period.
According to the Manager of "Vahali", Vincent Beker, the deadline for completion of the ship is October 1, 2007, after which it will be sold abroad.
- This is the second large ship, river tanker, which is built in this shipyard, and construction of another four ships by the end of the year is in the pipeline – said Beker.
According to his words, ever since "Vahali" rented shipyard in Belgrade, on the basis of technical cooperation, additional 120 people have been employed and nearly 2m EUR has been invested in the equipment, part of which was provided by the Dutch Government.
The Ambassador of Netherlands to Serbia, Ron van Dartel, who was present at the formal ceremony, pointed out that the Dutch Government had invested 21m EUR in Serbia through its programs since 2001.
