Sale of stocks of Newspaper Agency “Novosti” to be ceased?

The Privatization Board of the Parliament of Serbia unanimously (but without representatives of Democratic Party) adopted the conclusion resulting in demand for abolishment of process for takeover of company Večernje novosti for the sake of protection of interests of the State and minor stockholders. The request will be sent to the Government of Serbia, i.e. Ministry of Economy, Privatization Agency and other State institutions, among which is Public Prosecutor’s Office. The Board demands that in order to have the revision of former privatization process carries out, especially revision of value and structure of assets in the company. This position is backed by the head of Novosti Manojlo Manjo Vukotić, although present structure of assets is such that minor stockholders have 69.3%, whereas SCG owns about 29.7%.
