Regional conference on use of subterranean waters, which will gather more than 100 experts from the world and about 250 from Serbia, will be held in Belgrade from June 7 to 9.
The President of the Organizational committee of the conference, Milan Dimkić, said that the issue of water supply and the problem of use of subterranean waters were of the world importance, because the drinking water supply to population was becoming harder and harder, so that the regional and broader collaboration were necessary.
Dimkić, the Manager of the Waterpower Engineering Institute "Jaroslav Černi", pointed out that the subterranean waters were the most significant and widely spread resource for supply of drinking water.
Organizers of the conference, which will be held in center "Sava" are International Waters Association "IWA", Institute "Jaroslav Černi", Belgrade's Plumbing and Sewerage, International Commission for Protection of the Danube and International Association of water supply systems of Danubian countries.
The patrons of the meeting are Government of Serbia, ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Waterpower Engineering, Ministry of Science, Directorate for Waters, Serbian Academy of Arts and Science and UNESCO.
