Set of amendments and supplements to environmental regulations adopted

Members of the Parliament of the Republic of Serbia yesterday adopted the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Chemicals, the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Biocidal Products and the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Integrated Prevention and Control of Environment Pollution, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection announced.
The adopted amendments and supplements to the Law on Chemicals are introducing taxes for the most complex procedures that are carried out on the basis of this law.
As Agriculture and Environmental Protection Minister Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic explained earlier, a new legal model is being introduced by which the costs of acquiring administrative acts and approvals will be charged in the form of taxes to juristic persons engaged in the production, importation and sale of chemicals.
These adopted amendments clearly specify the jurisdiction of sanitary, market and environmental protection inspection when it comes to the supervision of application of the Law on Chemicals, which will make the control more efficient and meaningful.
