Since January, Serbia's public debt increased for EUR 1 billion

Serbia’s public debt totals EUR 24, 2 billion and is EUR 1 billion higher than at the end of January this year, Public Debt Directorate published.

At the end of January, public debts totaled EUR 23, 2 which is 72,3% of gross domestic product (GDP).

According to the data of the Public Debt Directorate, March 10 saw public debt totaling approximately RSD 2.926 billion, i.e. EUR 24, 2 billion.

At the end of 2000, public debt was EUR 14, 17 billion which was 201,2% GDP. Since then, the lowest public debt was in 2008 and totaled 8, 78, i.e. 28, 3% GDP.

The Law on budget system limits public debt share in GDP to 45%.
