Construction of the highway from Bar to the border with Serbia starts

Vice President of the Montenegrin Government, Vujica Lazovic, said on Friday, March 6, 2015 that the construction of the highway from Bar to the border with Serbia will start soon.

- It is about weeks, not months- Lazovic said.

Chinese company which will build the highway, has been looking for these days a large number of workers which will build the first section, from Smokovac at Podgorica to Matesevo, in the direction to Kolasin, 50 km long.

The highway between Bar and the border with Serbia, in line with the agreement, will be built by Chinese companies China’s Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and CRBS. Chinese Exim bank previously approved EUR 687 m of loan for construction of the first and the most difficult highway section which will cost EUR 809 m.

The highway from Bar to the border to Serbia will be 170 km long and according to previous announcements it should cost more than EUR 2 billion.
