Matijevic to acquire Novi Sad - based Neobus

Novi Sad-based MPZ Agrar purchased documentation to participate at the auction of Plant for buses Neobus in bankruptcy whose sale the Agency for privatization scheduled for Friday, March 6.

A businessman from Novi Sad, Petar Matijevic is behind MZT Agrar. He is also known for meat Industry Matijevic. Dnevnik reports he is at the moment the only potential buyer i.e. that MPZ Agrar took documentation to participate at tender.

The head of Matijevic agrar, Zoran Matijevic (a son of the owner of Industrija mesa (Meat industry) said the company is interested in the purchase of Neobus for expansion of business in metal complex and therefore MPZ "Agrar is interested in the plant for bus production.

The Agency for privatization for the third time scheduled sale of Neobus since there were no interested buyers in the previous two.

The sale of entire plant for buses, the most valuable of which is 12 ha near Bulevar Evrope street, will most likely be carried out through direct deal. Since February last year, Neobus has been in bankruptcy and in November 2012, bankruptcy was introduced. Debts of Neobus total some EUR 12 m.

Initial price will be almost EUR 2 m.
