Legalization and new building in Nis cheaper by 30%

Since Sunday, March 1, 30% lower fees for construction land maintenance became effective.

Based on the decision of the local authorities, fees citizens pay during legalization of already built residential facilities or obtaining of construction permit for new buildings, is cheaper for seven construction zones, out of eight in Nis.

In the eight zone the fee remains RSD 945 while it will range RSD 1.200 - 3.900 per square meter for the remaining seven.

As of March 1, longer payment period has been effective so citizens will be able to pay this fee in installments on ten years instead of current five.

The decision on fee price decrease and longer payment periods was adopted by the City council in late last year and the main reason is support to Nis citizens who have to legalize their houses and flats.

The head of the Directorate for planning and construction, Rodoljub Mihajlovic, said for the Beta agency that so far 35.000 citizens submitted legalization requests but only 300 legalize their facilities.

He outlined that almost all legalization requests are empty i.e. that they contain only the request form.

City heads these days have been outlining that Nis is ready for implementation of the new Law on planning and construction which implies united procedure of issuing construction permits in 28 days most.
