Srbijagas to set aside in March - Gas transport firm to be named Transgas

Special firm for gas transport which will most likely be named Transgas will be registered next month. This way, Srbijagas will finally set aside which is work that has been expected for three years and these days IMF pressure has supported it.

For consumers, nothing really changes since Srbijagas will remain fuel distributor. Decisions which are made now should start our gas system from dead point.

- I believe we are finally on the right track – the minister of energy, Aleksandar Antic, estimated.

- As of July 1, there has been an independent regulator for gas transport and Srbijagas will in March 2015 set up legally separated daughter company which will be responsible for gas network management. New company should get a license of the Agency for energy as an operator of transmission gas system before the end of May 2015.

Antic announced that by the end of August, project of gas connection between Serbia and Bulgaria will be completely defined , which was agreed yesterday with the European Commission:

- With colleagues from EC we talked about the Trans-Balkans energy corridor and we candidate gas connection with Macedonia, from Vranje to Kumanovo, for regionally important project.

Debts with Petrohemija

The option that Petrohemija due to to its debts for Srbijagas is listed together with this company opens the issue of debts to Srbijagas.

- Everybody owns to us and therefore we are in minus – Veljko Milosevic from trade union of Srbijagas. We accepted Azotara partially because of their debts but they have not been paid. I hope these companies will soon go private so that we could settle debts.

Hungarian ZRT is interested in Azotara.
