Jobs for 400 workers - Italian "Calzedonia" to have 15m EUR worth of lingerie factory built in Sombor

President of Italian company for production of lingerie "Calzedonia" for southeast Europe, Dubravko Hoić, and Mayor of Municipality of Sombor, Jovan Slavković, signed the contract on construction of factory worth 15m EUR on May 28, 2007. It is announced that the factory will employ 400 workers.

Signing of the contract took place in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Regional Development, Mlađan Dinkić, the Minister without portfolio, in charge of the National Investment Plan, Dragan Đilas, the President of Executive Council of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, Jasna Matić, and the Provincial Secretary for Economy Siniša Lazić.

Slavković said that the arrival of company "Calzedonia" was very important event for Sombor’s economy, because that factory would much contribute to the reduction of unemployment trate.

The President of company "Calzedonia", Mr. Hoić, said that the factory in the industrial zone of Sombor would be put into operation in 2008 and that it would employ about 400 workers whose training would start in June.
