Mutual website for better hostel services in Novi Sad

Late this month, website which will comprise offer of all hostels in Novi Sad which as the Tourist Organization of Novi Sad has as registered is twenty with a hundred of beds, will be completed.

Hostel opening became trend in Novi Sad in 2013.

– Taking into an account that our town is becoming more a tourist destination, hostels make the offer richer – the owner of City hostel, Igor Erhartic says and adds hostels here work as anywhere else.

He says there is a hostel network which comprises two hundred hostels in Serbia. Mutual Novi sad website which will be completed in late February will enable better communication between current hostel owners when service price should be defined or when situations such as when a guest leaves and does not pay for and overnight stay and goes to another hostel where he does the same thing should be prevented.

– We have a base of unwanted guests and if they are not welcomed at one hostel, he will not be welcomed in another either due to inappropriate behavior. Theft happen, when we or a guest get robbed. For instance, there were cases when a guest steals fiscal cash desk, towels, kitchen dishes or steals something from his roommate such as a mobile phone. We found out it is the same guest when we went to the police to register theft. At the end, a few of hostel owners located him at the center of the city and the police arrested him –Igor Erhartic says.

– On the other hand, mutual website is necessary to, if there is no room in a hostel, we can send a guest to another one, the nearest one.

Now it is a dead season but as soon as the spring comes, guests start coming. Last year, in his hostel, there were tourists almost every second or third day from Australia who are delighted with nightlife, beautiful girls and national dishes. On the average, the Australians spend here two days since they have planned itinerary.

– It is incredible that tourists from far Australia visit our town and they are not of our origin –Erhartic says and adds that in talks with them he found out the Balkans is more interested for them than exotic regions such as Thailand.

He says tourists from the region come also and last year most of them were from Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia and Macedonia.

– Slovenians do not find it difficult to spend bachelor’s party in Novi Sad and to come from Ljubljana or Maribor because they were here for New Year’s Eve or for some other reason and heard we have good nightlife and that we are welcoming–Igor Erhartic says.

He outlines that the Tourist Organization of Novi Sad provides great support to hostel owners and informs them regularly on fairs and take their advertising material so tourists do not find difficult to decide where to spend the night.
