New discoveries in cancer treatment - Study on tumor tissue analysis conducted by Rosa Karlic of Zagreb's Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences

Rosa Karlic, assistant professor at the Zagreb Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, has discovered that the analysis of tumor tissue can reveal the type of tissue that caused metastasis. In cooperation with a team of scientists from Harvard and Zagreb, she conducted a study that revealed that the tumor tissue analysis can point to the type of tissue that caused tumor.

This will be particularly helpful in treating metastatic tumors because it will be possible to identify the exact origin of the tumor and prescribe appropriate therapy accordingly.

The results of this study, whose main author is Rosa Karlic, are published in the science journal Nature.
