Telenor, Telekom and Vip get 4G frequencies

At a public auction that was held today at RATEL, all mobile operators in Serbia - Telenor, Telekom Srbija and Vip mobile, have acquired frequencies allowing them to introduce the fourth generation mobile telephony. RATEL's commission has determined that all bidders submitted regular financial offers amounting to EUR 3.5 million.
Every mobile operator has got two radio frequency bands, meaning that each of them is to pay EUR 7 million to the state for the use of these radio frequencies.
The public auction was attended by Serbian Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic.
RATEL issued three individual licenses for the use of two radio-frequency bands for a period of 10 years, with the possibility of extending this term for additional two years.
