Italian company Medicitalia coming to Jagodina - Investment of about EUR 8 million

Italian company Medicitalia has expressed intention to start producing blood transfusion systems (plastic bags) in Jagodina, Town Hall President Dragan Markovic Palma said today.
- Medicitalia was the first to submit a letter of intent, which we accepted, and then their delegation led by company owner Giovani Mazuri came to Jagodina in mid-December, and is now coming again on February 23, when we expect to get the final answer - Markovic explained to journalists.
At first, this company will set up production in a rented facility until its own plant is built in the Industrial Zone, Markovic added. Pursuant to the agreement signed in December, Medicitalia will employ 60 workers at the factory in Jagodina in the first phase, and this investment is valued at 7-8 million euro.
- We've also received an offer from the Savio Firmino company, a manufacturer of decorative furniture, to open a factory in our town, and the representative of this company was also staying in Jagodina in December. This company too would first operate in a rented facility and employ between 50 and 70 workers - Markovic noted.
Both factories should be put into operation this spring. There are three Italian factories operating in Jagodina with two of them - Andrea Confezioni Srbija and Mobil Turi - being important exporters as well. For example, Andrea Confezioni Srbija was among the top ten exporters in Sumadija and Pomoravlje last year. Also, the multinational Vibac is building its fourth factory in Jagodina.
- We're also negotiating the construction of factory for producing cheese and milk powder with Inalpi - Markovic reminded.
He pointed out that Jagodina was "the champion when it comes to attracting foreign investors."
