- Russian airliner "Aeroflot" gave so far the most concrete offer for privatization of "Jat Airways" – said the Minister of Infrastructure, Velimir Ilić.
- There is a great interest in our air transportation company and number of companies already offer some solutions – said Ilić and added that the information was being prepared for the Government of Serbia, which should make final decision about the destiny of "Jat Airways".
- What Russians offered is that all employees stay in the company, that the debts of the national airliner be settled, that the new aircrafts be procured and that one of the key companies in southeast Europe be revived and resume living. Of course, they would be the owners either completely or partially, which is on the Governme of Serbia to decide – said he.
Ilić reminded that Niš-based airport had already been allotted to foreign companies and that airport "Ponikve" would soon be opened.
- We will also get "Lađevci" ready and "Jat" definitely has not enough planes for so many flights. "Jat" will not be able to keep up with the competition when the free sky above Europe comes to life. The documents have been signed, but the deadline has been postponed for the end of this year. Among so many successful foreign companies, "Jat" will not be able to meet criteria with the existing fleet – the Minister said.
According to his words, the Manager of "Jat Airways", Nebojša Starčević, will be dismissed from that position.
