Matijevic gets new plant in July - Novi Sad's meatpacker signs EUR 5 million contract with Germany's BANSS

The meat-packing company Matijevic signed a contract with Germany's BANSS today on the supply and assembly of pig slaughtering line with a capacity of 300 pigs per hour, that is, 2,400 pigs/8 hours.

This investment is valued at EUR 5 million, and the plan is to put the new line into operation in July 2015. It is designed in line with EU regulations and standards that are scheduled to take effect in 2019, Matijevic said in a release today.

- We believe that we have a raw material base that must be backed by the equipment reflecting the highest technological achievements in the meat-packing industry - the release reads.
