Douglas Matthews, Manager of "U.S. Steel", new President of American Chamber

New President of American Chamber of Commerce to Serbia will be the General Manager of company "U.S. Steel", which bought Smederevo-based forge "Sartid", Douglas R. Matthews.

Matthews officially substituted former president of that chamber Eugenio Sidoli, the Manager of Tobacco Factory Niš, whose mandate in Serbia ended and who is going to take a new managerial position in company "Philip Morris" in Spain.

The first Vice President of the Chamber will be the General Manager of company "Microsoft Srbija", Dejan Cvetković, who used to be the second president of the American Chamber of Commerce. According to the announcement of the American Chamber to Serbia, Douglas Matthews will continue to intensify activities on removal of obstacles for economic development of Serbia and he will work on the improvement of business climate and conditions for new employments.

Matthews has been on the head of company U.S Steel in Serbia since May 1st 2006. Before that, he was the General Manager of Engineering and High-furnace Technology in the headquarters of that company in Pittsburgh. American Chamber of Commerce has more than 160 members, with total investment of over 5 billion USD, which together employ over 50,000 people in Serbia.
