Vienna has grossed EUR 128 million since Ball Season started

The capital city of Austria has grossed EUR 128 million since the beginning of the Ball Season, from 11 November 2014 until now, the Vienna Chamber of Commerce said in a release.

Each visitor of Vienna's balls spent EUR 255 on average: 130 euro on the ticket, food and drinks, 70 euro on the clothing, and another 55 euro on other things.

The revenue generated so far does not include earnings from Opernball, the most significant and the most famous ball in Vienna, which will take place February 12 at the Vienna State Opera under the patronage of Austrian President Heinz Fischer.

The Vienna Chamber of Commerce has published a study showing that the Ball Season, during which over 400 balls are organized every year, is of great importance to the economy of the Austrian capital.

The Viennese account for 70 percent of all ball visitors as 270,000 citizens of Vienna attend at least one ball during the Ball Season that takes place between November 11 and February 17.
