Lafarge and Holcim today announced their plan to sell the assets to CRH, an Irish manufacturer of building materials, at the company value of EUR 6.5 billion, which is main precondition for the merger of French and Swiss cement makers.
These two companies primarily want to sell their operations in Europe, Canada, Brazil and in the Philippines, including a debt of EUR 1.3 billion, they announced.
These assets generated about EUR 5.2 billion in revenue last year, while EBITDA was at about EUR 744 million.
Lafarge and Holcim have confirmed their plans to complete the merger in the first half of this year, Reuters reports today.
