VUCIC: High-speed rail to Budapest in October 2017, Google wanted in Serbia
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has agreed in a direct talk with his Chinese counterpart Li Kexiang that Belgrade-Budapest high-speed rail be opened in October 2017, the daily newspaper Novosti reports.
All details of this very important plan were agreed upon yesterday at the margins of traditional World Economic Forum in Swiss ski resort Davos, which gathered leaders and prime ministers of about 40 countries.
These two officials agreed that the Chinese PM should come to the official ceremony in Belgrade, which is also expected to be attended by Hungarian PM Viktor Orban.
During the two-day Forum, which is being held under the name of "New Global Context," Vucic will meet with a number of world leaders and representatives of the largest companies.
Vucic will also have a meeting with the representatives of US company Esmark about the takeover of Zelezara Smederevo, as well as with one of Google executives, Jared Coen, who plans on investing in southeast Europe.
As he pointed out, his intention is to bring this IT giant to Belgrade.
- We expect them in Serbia and I believe we will have some good and important meetings for the future of Serbia - said the prime minister.
