Social media network Twitter has taken over Indian mobile marketing company ZipDial.
The value of this transaction has not been disclosed, but Reuters reports it is somewhere between 30 and 40 million US dollars.
This Indian company has built a platform that allows mobile users to contact a brand even without Internet connection. For example, buyer dials a phone number in order to get some information. However, before the client hangs up, which would mean that he or she is to pay for the call, the service immediately disconnects the call, thus preventing the client from being charged.
Phone server then sends the requested information to the client's number via SMS, call or notification.
This mobile marketing solution is focused on mobile users who don't have Internet connection on their phone and need some information at a certain moment, TV N1 reports.
