City of Belgrade gets stake in Simpo

The aldermen of Belgrade adopted Wednesday a decision to convert the debt of Vranje-based Simpo into the city's stake in that company.
Simpo's debt on 30 June 2014 amounted to approximately RSD 40 million.
As it was announced, this decision is made in line with the recommendation of the Serbian government which also converted Simpo's debt to the state into a stake in that furniture maker.
Goran Vesic, the city manager, said earlier that the aim was to enable the Vranje-based company, which is majority owned by the state, to find a foreign investor.
