396 German companies and 461 enterpreneurs operate in Serbia

A total of 396 German company whose owners are German legal entities and 461 entrepreneurs more from Germany has been operating in Serbia, Delegation of German Trade in Serbia ( (AHK) has announced. The data of the Agency for Business Registries sat the end of 2014 show that.

These 396 German companies in Serbia hires more than 25.000 people which is some 3,5% in total structure of the employees at the Serbian labor market.

A great leap has been recorded when it comes to entrepreneurs from Germany, i.e. more than 150 physical entities in less than two years.

Increase and promotion of trade exchange between Serbia and Germany definitely remained high priority at the New Year’s wishes list for businessmen of both countries, it was announced.

- We are still far from real records in trade exchange, they are waiting for us in the future since there are huge capacities for further promotion of economic relations between our two countries – the head at the Delegation of German Trade in Serbia (AHK) Martin Knapp, said.

This trade institution which has been contributing a lot to better cooperation between Serbia has been operating in Serbia since 2001 but in the first half this year it should connect to the German-Serbian Association (DSW) into unique German-Serbian chamber of commerce as the highest form of economic bilateral cooperation.

When it comes to current goods exchange, according to German statistical bureau, since January to October 2014, it reached EUR2,36 billion where Serbian export totaled EUR 1,06 billion and German was EUR 1,30 billion.

There are good chances that last year’s trade record of EUR 2,8 billion is exceeded the moment statistical data for the last quarter are updated, it was stated in the announcement.
