Toll for Horgos-Szeged route

Ride at the highway section between the border crossing Horgos-Reska and Szeged is no longer free of charge.

As RTV "Panon" announced, as of January, usage of this section is paid through vicarage matrux, so drivers who start journey from Serbia through border crossing Horgos-Reska towards Szeged or Morahalom, will encounter an unpleasant surprise.

New Hungarian toll payment system, which became effective as of New Year, introduced payment at short sub border crossings and if a driver wants to use only that part of the highway within a certain vicarage, he should pay only for that vicarage. It costs 5.000 forints per vicarage (some RSD 2.000) and is valid for a year.

Penalty for this violation is 15.000 forints but until the end of January, while being implemented, a fee of 1.500 forints will be charged and people will be directed to purchase of vicarage matrix.

The ones who want to avoid these vicarage tolls can cross border at Bajmok, Kelebija, Backi Vinogradi and Djala or to use regional roads instead of highways.
