State-owned package of stocks of company "Carnex" on Stock Exchange starting from May 24

The second attempt at selling State-owned package of 40.865 stocks of Meat Industry "Carnex" on the Belgrade Stock Exchange is scheduled for May 24. The starting price amounts to 1,909 RSD per stock.

According to the web site of the Belgrade Stock Exchange, the price of stock is 384 RSD lower than on the first auction, so that the minimal price for the package of 507,672 stocks owned by the Share Fund and 159,264 stocks of the Pension-Disability Insurance Fund will amount to 1.27 billion RSD. The condition for participation in the auction is that the buyer provides deposit of 1.27 billion RSD.

In 2006, "Carnex" had profit of 121m RSD, which is twice as much as in 2005. The majority package of 51.3% of stocks of Meat Industry "Carnex" from Vrbas was sold in November 2006 to company "Ashmor" from London.

Company "Ashmor", which deals with the management of investment funds, took over the majority package from company "Midland Group", which became the owner of “Carnex” in August 2003 by purchasing stocks from minor stockholders for 14.5m EUR.
