Production of bio-diesel to start in Šid – unit’s capacity-100,000 tons a year

"Victoria Group" has finished the construction of factory for production of bio-diesel in Šid and already tomorrow (May 9, 2007), under the name of "Victoria Oil", the factory will be put into operation. According to the words of Veroslav Janković, the Manager for investments and development of "Victoria Group" Serbia, the capacity of the unit built according to German LURGI technology, amounts to 100,000 tons of bio-diesel on annual basis.

- Projected production in the first year is 30,000 tons, 70,000 tons in the second, and 100,000 tons in the third year - Janković explained and added that the first liters would be, according to the existing agreement, offered to farmers, large transportation companies, public transportation companies and gas stations.

According to Janković, one of the participants in conference "Renewable fuels-path towards energy independence”, which was held today (May 8, 2007) in "Hyatt" hotel in the organization of "Ekonomist Media Group", the new factory employed 200 workers and already signed some pre-contracts on export of bio-diesel to Hungary and Slovenia. Its potential partner is NIS.
