Is Split the next destination to the Chinese?

Split is a candidate for a host of business meeting of economists an politicians of SEE, China and a few EU countries scheduled for March next year.

British magazine, the Economist, is the main conference organizer and CNN is media sponsor, Seebiz portal reports.

Project leader, Nektaria Pasarivakis has already had preliminary discussion with the deputy mayor of Split, Goran Kovacevic, with respct to potential hosting in this town.

- We would like our town to become and stay a host of this meeting next years as well – Kovacevic said and outlined that it is one of the biggest conferences of this type in Europe which will gather some 400 participants, economists and country leaders.

He especially outlined that the Split citizens are glad that their city "recognized as a potential host of such important events, since it brings significant results in economic, tourist and commercial sense".

In case Split is a host, Croatian Ministry of foreign and European affairs should be co-organizer of the event and talks on the meeting host will continue in late January, portal reports.
