Contract for construction of two flood protection dams signed - French Sade is selected contractor

On Monday, December 22, 2014, representatives of the Office for support and rehabilitation of flooded areas, UNDP progr and PC Srbijavode signed agreements on construction of four flood protection dams in Mali Zvornik and and Krupanj.
The head of the Office for support and rehabilitation of flooded areas, Marko Blagojevic, explained the construction of dams is a part of the UNDP- funded project, which implies construction of 20 flood dams in eight municipalities, totaling EUR 1,5 m.
He outlined the project will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry for governmental administration and local self-governance and the Office for support and rehabilitation of flooded areas.
As he said, French company Sade will carry out the construction works on dam at Kostajnicka river and Durisavac spring in Krupanj, as well at the Boranjska river in Mali Zvornik, and their completion is expected by March 15 next year.
According to him, Srbijavode will carry out supervision of works while local self-governances shall maintain and clean dams after construction.
Blagojevic specified that remaining dams will be constructed at water currents in Osecina, Bajina Basta, Ljubovija, Loznica, Vrnjacka Banja and Kosjeric, while contracts for their construction will be signed in the next two weeks.
