Mexx ends up in bankruptcy

Clothes chain, Mexx has been in bankruptcy, Austrian media informed us. Mexx initiated bankruptcy procedure due to illiquidity of its mother Dutch company. Bankruptcy was declared before the trade court in Amsterdam.

Dutch fashion company has 315 shops in Europe, mainly in Belgium, with 1.500 people. Bankruptcy in Austria hit 14 employees and the company will be liquidated.

Company’s liabilities in Austria total some EUR 4,5 m, EUR 4,2 of which in loans. Company’s working capital fell to only EUR 100.000. Delta Sport is a distributor of Mexx in the region.
