November sees public debt of 68,3% of GDP

At the end of November, Serbia’s public debt totaled EUR 22, 29 billion which is 68,3% of GDP, the Ministry of Finance of Serbia has announced today.

Compared to September, it increased for some EUR 70 m.

Total direct liabilities of the country totaled EUR 19, 79 billion in October and indirect EUR 2, 49 billion.

At the end of 2013, Serbia’s public debt totaled EUR 20, 14 billion, i.e. 59, 6% of GDP.

At the end of 2000, it was EUR 14, 17 billion which was 201,2% of GDP. Since that time, the lowest amount of public debt was 2008 and it totaled EUR 8, 78 billion, i.e. 28, 3% GDP.

The Law on budget system the stake of public debt at GDP is limited to 45%.
