Total of 84% of assets of Novi Sad-based "Dnevnik" for sale

Privatization Agency of Serbia yesterday (May 3, 2007) announced the tender for sale of 84% of assets of Novi Sad-based Newspaper-publishing company "Dnevnik". According to the web site of the Agency, total of 24,241 stocks of "Dnevnik" owned by Vojvodina and 30,469 stocks owned by Serbia are offered for sale.

All bidders who deal with publishing or printing business for the past five years can participate in the tender. The condition is that they had income of at least 30m EUR in 2006.

The requests for purchase of tender documentation at price of 6,000 EUR can be submitted to the Agency prior to May 25. The bids on the tender can be delivered prior to June 15, along with the payment of deposit or delivery of banking guarantee in amount of 500,000 EUR.

"Dnevnik" had business income of 258m RSD in 2006, while its net loss amounted to 96m RSD, which is 36m RSD less than one year before. The largest and the oldest newspaper-publishing company in Vojvodina had 439 employees at the end of the last year.
