Niska pivara under hammer again

After three failed attempts of sale, Pivara Nis (Nis brewery) is looking for a buyer again. The initial price is RSD 280 m and public bidding is scheduled for mid-January.

- Production unit is on sale, completely equipped to start beer production, at the initial price of RSD 280 m – a trustee in bankruptcy, Ljubomir Kostic, said for Tanjug.

Pivara Nis has been in bankruptcy since August last year. During bankruptcy, a part of property which is not directly connected with the beer production was distinguished and mainly sold.

- The major part of beer production equipment was set aside in production business unit which we tried to sell three times, but failed. In mid-January, we will organize public bidding, for the fourth time – Kostic said.

There is an interest of buyers for Nis-based brewery, as he says.

The initial price in the first sales attempt was RSD 397 m which is more than100 million than now.

- Initial price decrease is a step which we could carry out hoping that a buyer interested in the whole plant will appear. We are aware there are no many buyers like that and the economic moment is not favorable for these decisions– Kostic said.

Still, he said for Tanjug there is realistic basis for hope that the brewery will find its new owner this time.
