Serbia and China join forces in rehabilitation of Block 2 at Kostolac thermal power plant

Chinese ambassador in Belgrade, Li Manchang said that he expects that during the visit of the Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang to Belgrade in December, a contract on mutual rehabilitation of Kostolac 2 thermal power plant will be signed.

- Chinese company is conducting works on Block 1 in Kostolac, and most likely we will, during the visit of our Prime Minister, officially sign the document on cooperation on Block 2 in that thermal power plant – Manchang said before the Summit of the prime ministers of China and 16 leaders of CEE countries due December 16 and 17. Speaking about the reasons for Chinese investments in Serbia, Manchang said that there has been traditional friendship between the two countries and that infrastructure in Serbia is favorable environment for investments and cooperation.

Manchang said that China, as well, which will host the summit, sees Serbia as a true friendly country and that the visit of the Prime Minister Aleksnadar Vucic to China had a decisive role in the fact to organize the summit in Belgrade.

Manchang said that the Summit will be visited by the Chinese Prime Minister with the delegation of 160 members and 200 businessmen, while he expects some 800 people participating at the summit.
