Delta to have trade center and Maxi market chain built in Macedonia - €50m ?

Company Delta Invest has the intention of building trade center and supermarket chain in Macedonia, Macedonian Agency for Foreign Investments claims. The representatives of this company have recently visited Macedonia and represented their idea to the Government of Macedonia. The businessmen from Serbia asked for locations in Skopje and some other Macedonian cities for settling of Maxi supermarkets. Delta invest announced €50m worth of investments and jobs for about 2,500 workers. Macedonian Agency for Foreign Investments claims that the Government have not sent the answer to Delta Invest yet, although this Agency sent public invitation to Macedonian companies ten days ago to deliver information intended for foreign investors. So far, about 30 companies answered to the appeal of the Agency.

Delta invest is a part of Delta Holding group, which has its supermarkets in Serbia, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Croatia. It employs over 10,000 workers. Projected turnover of this company in 2005 is €610m.
