Budget halts hall construction – Belgrade Athlete hall is still waiting for final works, first athletes on site no sooner than in 2016

Although the construction of the first Athletehall in Belgrade, in Banjica, should have endedbut the final works have not started yet. The minister of sport, Vanja Udovicic, announcedearly this year the final works will start in May but that was not the case.This year has gone also and the Belgrade citizens are still waiting for the endof the construction of this important sports facility which is waiting for thewinter uncovered again.

The Ministry of sport says for eKapija that contracting of the second, finalstage of the works is waiting for budget.

The second stage comprises covering, façade, craftsmen and other works whichwill completely finalize the works on the hall.

- The plan is that the second stage ends by the end of 2015. The end of allnecessary procedures for obtaining usagepermit and putting the hall into operation was planned for early 2016 – the Ministryof sport of the Republic of Serbia says for our portal.
