International Market Chain “METRO cash & carry” is interested in having at least one big wholesale distributive center built in Montenegro, on territory of Cetinjski or Petrovački road outside Podgorica.

The information was confirmed by Nada Medenica, councellor in the cabinet of vice-president of the Government, Branimir Gvozdenović, who said that this was only the continuation of the contact established in November 2004 when Prime Minister Milo Đukanović had met one member of the Board of Directors of METRO and had spoken about the possibilities for cooperation.

She pointed out that, since the matter in question is distributive center, METRO was not interested in location in the city center, but location where one square meter of land cost €30-€40.

It was said that the Germans were interested in building facility whose value would not amount to less than €15m.
